How to prevent Dollar Spot: Make sure you water your lawn early in the morning, so it has time to dry out. With proper fertilization, affected areas typically rebound quickly.

Patches of grass with reddish or pinkish threads extending from the blades is Red Thread. Red Thread is a common lawn disease during cool damp weather or if your lawn is low in nitrogen. It primarily affects ryegrass, fine fescues, and Kentucky bluegrass.

How to prevent Red Thread: Applying a balanced fertilizer will not only prevent this disease, but it will also promotes vibrant grass growth.

Necrotic Ring Spot is a fungal disease that affects cool-season grasses like Kentucky bluegrass and fine fescue. It shows up as circular patches of thinning or dead grass, often forming a “frog-eye” pattern. Caused by the soil-borne fungus Ophiosphaerella korrae, it becomes active in cool, wet spring and fall periods and weakens roots, making turf more susceptible to summer stress.

How to prevent Necrotic Ring Spot: Prevention and treatment focus on healthy lawn care and fungicides. Apply balanced fertilizer, mow higher, manage thatch, and water properly. In problem areas, spring fungicide applications and resistant grass overseeding help control spread and restore the lawn.
